Certifications
Five current certifications, audited by third parties
Holding five accreditations at once — and renewing them every year — is what separates a logistics operator from a haulier. Each one is a promise verified by somebody outside the company.
ATP-FRC · Agreement on the carriage of perishable foodstuffs
Official certification of the trailers under the United Nations ATP Agreement, in class FRC: mechanically refrigerated equipment with reinforced insulation, rated to hold the interior between +12 °C and −20 °C at +30 °C outside.
It is mandatory for international perishable transport and is renewed through official testing or inspection of the equipment. The entire CoolCargo fleet is certified to this class. Full ATP-FRC guide.
ISO 9001:2015 · Quality management system
A quality management system certified to the international ISO 9001 standard, with annual external audit. For a haulier that means written procedures for loading, pre-cooling, incidents and delivery, recorded non-conformities and an improvement cycle that is audited rather than declared.
GDP · Good Distribution Practice for medicinal products
Compliance with the European guidelines on Good Distribution Practice for medicinal products for human use (2013/C 343/01): vehicles qualified for the declared range, continuous logging, formal handling of temperature excursions and trained personnel. See pharmaceutical transport.
TAPA TSR1 · Transport security, audited by Bureau Veritas
Security certification to the TAPA (*Transported Asset Protection Association*) standard at level 1, the most demanding of the trucking security requirements, audited by Bureau Veritas.
It covers vehicle access control, parking and stopping procedures, load monitoring and incident response. It is a common requirement from shippers moving high-value freight.
Spanish Health Registry 40.055673/B
Official Spanish health authorisation for the transport of foodstuffs and goods subject to health control. It is the registration that evidences the company’s fitness to move food product to the competent authority.
How they are maintained
All five are kept current throughout the year through regular internal and external audits, not only in the window before renewal. Tracking the ATP certificate expiry of each individual trailer is part of the traffic department’s daily work.
Frequently asked questions
Can CoolCargo be audited as a transport supplier?
Yes. It is routine among pharmaceutical and food customers, and forms part of their own supplier qualification obligations. Quality system documentation, current certificates and thermal mapping records are made available to the auditor.
What certification should I require from a refrigerated carrier?
At minimum, the ATP certificate of the specific vehicle that will move the freight, valid and of a class suited to the product (FRC for frozen). If the product is food, the company’s health registration. If it is medicinal product, GDP compliance. And if it is high value, a security certification such as TAPA.
Need to move temperature-controlled freight?
